SERMON: FEBRUARY 2020

"Recognizing Your Kairos Moment" by Pastor Carthel

God presents himself at different "moments" in our lives. These moments are NOT based on the "chronological" passage of time, but rather in the "Fullness of Time" (as God is not confined to time). This message is gifted to help us recognize  those divine moments. Pastor Carthel Towns

SERMON: March 2020 (audio is being edited and will be available soon)

With so many things competing for our attention it's important that we are able to recognize the sound of God's voice. If our lives are chaotic can we even hear God? Can/does He speak in a crowded space where He has to scream to get our attention? Are we hearing Him, but not listening? These and many other questions are highlighted in this month's message. I pray it blesses you. Pastor Carthel

08-28-2022: What The bible says about abortion (parts 2 & 3)

On Sunday, we concluded our series on "What the Bible Really Says About Abortion." As with our sermon series on Homosexuality, this is NOT AN OPINION piece on what I personally feel about abortion. Who cares what I think anyway, certainly not God. However, it is an exegetical verse-by-verse doctoral level look into scriptures that have been used for centuries to support the church's position on abortion. Are those positions aligned with God's will/word. Or are they simply man's opinions?

09-04-2022: No condemnation

Over the past few weeks we've covered some rather "heavy" topics: "What Does The Bible "Really" Say About HOMOSEXUALITY" and "What Does The Bible "Really" Say About ABORTION". And, as Christians, if we're not careful we can inadvertently condemn a member of the LGTBQ+ community or a mother (father, family) who decided to go through with an abortion. Regardless, The word teaches us that THERE IS NO CONDEMNATION IN CHRIST! Don't let any man or woman condemn you for the choices you made/make!

09-11-2022: Breaking Strongholds (Part 1)

Part 1 in an "original" three-part series on Breaking Strongholds created and taught by Rev. Dr. Carthel J. Towns, Sr. (Founder, Pastor/Teacher, and Servant-Shepherd)

NOTE: Part 2 was taught as a Bible Study. Please see the Bible Study tab.

09-15-2022 - Breaking Strongholds (Part 2) [bible study]

Part 2 in an "original" three-part series on Breaking Strongholds created and taught by Rev. Dr. Carthel J. Towns, Sr. (Founder, Pastor/Teacher, and Servant-Shepherd)

12-18-2022: From The Prison back To The promise [Part 3]

[PART 3] Today we closed out the narrative of Jonah regarding his choice (disobedience), the repercussions for his refusal to obey God (to himself as well as those connected to him). We closed it out with Jonah's repentance, redemption, as well as the redemption of the nation of Nineveh. We also discussed God's rebuke of Jonah in Chapter four.  Continued Blessings, Dr. Towns

12-11-2022: From The Prison back To The promise [Part 1]

[PART 1] Today we embarked upon a new story...JONAH!!! We read the entire book (Jonah), laid out the framework of the narrative and will continue with Part 2 Thursday night (12-15-2022) @ 7:00 PM. During Thursday's lesson we will dig deeper into the text to pull-out those nuggets of wisdom that can be so easily overlooked.  Continued Blessings, Dr. Towns

12-04-2022: From The Prison back To The promise

This message concludes the Storytime Sermon Series on Joseph's journey to the palace in Egypt. It highlights him using his anointing and being elevated to Governor ruling all of Egypt. I cover some very specific Narrative Take-A-Ways that will help lead you to wisdom as we unpack Joseph's story. The meeting with his brothers and father (Israel/Jacob) will be the topic of Bible Study this week as we get a clearer picture of how and why the Hebrews ended up in Egypt. Continued Blessings, Dr. Towns

12-01-2022: From the Pit To The Palace (part 3)

[PART 3]:  This sermon covers the second half of the 26 Narrative Takeaways from Joseph's story.

11-27-2022: From the Pit To The Palace (part 2)

[PART2]: During today's sermon we dig a little deeper into Joseph's entry into the palace by taking a look into the first half of the 26 Narrative Take-A-Ways.

11-20-2022: From the Pit To The Palace (part 1)

[PART 1]: As we continue the story of the plot to kill Joseph (by his brothers) he has now been sold (as opposed to killed) and brought to the palace - a place of opulence that's ruled by the Egyptians and riddled with sin. As Joseph enters the palace he's accused of sinning with Potiphar's wife and thrown in prison. Yet, God continued to bless Joseph even while in prison. For the message, I juxtaposed Sin City (the nickname for Las Vegas) with the palace. Continued Blessings, Pastor Carthel

11-13-2022: "BEYOND THE WALLS" CHURCH FELLOWSHIP (NO CHURCH TODAY) - THE VILLAGE WENT TO SEE BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER AS A CHURCH FAMILY

11-06-2022:

[PART 3]: The final installment...includes Bullet Summary to close out the story.

Bible Study: 11-03-2022 -

[PART 2]: On Sunday Oct. 30, 2022 we started this series (The Dream That's In A Pit) and today we took it just one-step further. It was just too powerful to wait an entire week to share with The Village. It is my prayer that this POWERFUL story in Genesis 37:1-28 blesses your life and that you are not selfish and at some point will share it with others. Continued Blessings, Dr. Towns

10-30-2022: "the RAM IN THE BUSH" - Abraham is tested(Pt 3)

[PART 1]: As we continue our Storytime series this is, without a doubt, one of thee most powerful stories in the Bible. It chronicles Joseph and his family as he shares a two dreams with them. Despite the increased hatred they showed toward Joseph (and his father's rebuke) Joseph was NOT AFRAID TO SHARE HIS DREAM. This story, when preached, is often told from the perspective of NOT sharing your dreams with others. The question becomes "What would have happened had Joseph NOT shared his dreams?"

10-23-2022: "the RAM IN THE BUSH" - Abraham is tested(Pt 2)

This week (live from Houston, TX) we continue our Storytime series with the second installment of "The Ram In The Bush" according to Genesis 22. This week's message drills down a little deeper and highlights how we got Isaac using the genealogy from Adam & Eve (via hierarchical charts). While at the same time paying homage to our NFL theme (the LA Rams). I pray it blesses you. Dr. Towns

10-16-2022: "the RAM IN THE BUSH" - Abraham is tested

If you grew up in the church, like I did, at some point you heard or read the story of how God "tested" Abraham by commanding him to sacrifice his ONLY son Isaac. And how God provided a ram as the sacrifice as opposed to Isaac. Well, like most stories "preached" a lot is omitted from the narrative. This week's message not only captures the true essence of that story, it also adds a historical context while paying homage to our NFL theme (the LA Rams). I pray it blesses you. Dr. Towns

10-09-2022: No Church Service today (pastor taking the day off)

10-02-2022: "We Dem Boyz" - The Three Hebrew Boys

Growing up in the Pentecostal church (COGIC) the Preacher often centered his message around a Biblical narrative (story). As a young person I was fascinated by these stories. However, as I started reading the Bible for myself, I quickly realized that these amazing stories were being preached from a very myopic lens thereby leaving out crucial aspects. So, this series attempts to not just fill-in those gaps, but to also provide a fun, creative "spin" during Football season. Hope you enjoy it.
