As we travel on the journey I call life, one thing we can all agree on is that it is riddled with challenges in addition to blessings. While we are quick to identify blessings in our lives, we tend to move a lot slower when it comes to acknowledging the presence of UNCLEAN SPIRITS in our lives. This message tackles that issue head-on!!! Our reluctance to identify unclean spirits does NOT minimize their destructive impact in our lives. STAND-UP & REBUKE THEM!! Continued Blessings, Dr. Towns
[PART 2] Tonight we covered Part 2 of the story of Jonah entitled, "Hatred Redeemed From The Sea". Traditionally when this story is told its from the perspective of Jonah running from God. However, that's NOT THE FULL STORY. We look at the hatred Jonah had for Nineveh to help paint a fuller picture of his decision (disobedience) to go to Tarshish. So, we looked at the Revelation, Refusal, and Repercussions surrounding Jonah. Continued Blessings, Dr. Towns
While we have concluded the narrative of Joseph being thrown into a pit (by his brothers), to him being appointed Governor over all of Egypt we wanted to go a step further to close out the narrative. This study shares why the Israelites (Hebrews) left Canaan, came to Egypt, and why they were subjected to such harsh treatment. It also introduces Moses in Exodus chapter 2. There is also a brief section that explains the differences between Canaan, Israel, Hebrew, Jew and Semite. Dr. Towns
[PART 3]: This sermon covers the second half of the 26 Narrative Takeaways from Joseph's story.
Tonight we cover a general overview of our Christian Bible. For many, the Bible can be a very confusing book to read and even harder to understand. While we've covered all 66 books of the Bible in a previous study series (Bible 66), we're zooming out to look at the Old Testament, Inter-testamental Period, and the New testament from a very top level perspectiv. It's designed to help you better understand the overall structure and impact of our Christian Bible. Continued Blessings, Pastor Carthel
[PART 2]: On Sunday Oct. 30, 2022 we started this series (The Dream That's In A Pit) and today we took it just one-step further. It was just too powerful to wait an entire week to share with The Village. It is my prayer that this POWERFUL story in Genesis 37:1-28 blesses your life and that you are not selfish and at some point will share it with others. Continued Blessings, Dr. Towns
[PART 5]: This week's Bible Study focuses exclusively on Mormonism. While Mormons are Christians, they have aligned themselves with the teachings of Joseph Smith, as outlined in the Book of Mormon (BOM), that at times appears to supersede tenets espoused in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. The BOM is considered (by Mormons) to be "another" testament that validates the Bible and helps better understand hidden or confused messages in the Bible.
[PART 4]: This week's Bible Study goes one step further in helping us better understand our Christian Bible. We take a look into the Book of Mormon as used by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and align it with the Holy Bible. There are many tenets of the LDS church and their sacred text (The Book of Mormon) that differ from The Holy Bible. However, I tried my best to refrain from making comparisons on belief systems and focused exclusively on The Book of Mormon for this lesson.
[PART 3]: During Bible Study (as we know it) time is usually dedicated to drilling down on a specific topic, theme, verse, book, or biblical figure. However, data reflects that many Christians lack a firm understanding of the very book (The Bible) that governs our lives as followers of Christ. So, as other religious groups seek to "tear down" The Bible we are often at a disadvantage...unable to defend the very book our Christian existence is built upon. This series seeks to change that narrative
[PART 2]: Growing up in the Pentecostal church (COGIC) the Preacher often centered his message around a Biblical narrative (story). As a young person I was fascinated by these stories. However, as I started reading the Bible for myself, I quickly realized that these amazing stories were being preached from a very myopic lens thereby leaving out crucial aspects. So, this series attempts to not just fill-in those gaps, but to also provide a fun, creative "spin" during Football season.

Part 2 in an "original" three-part series on Breaking Strongholds created and taught by Rev. Dr. Carthel J. Towns, Sr. (Founder, Pastor/Teacher, and Servant-Shepherd)
During this Bible Study we take a step back to look at some of the major opposition Christ had to deal with during his time on earth. The two most prominent groups (sects) were the Sadducees and the Pharisees. However, there were also Scribes and the Sanhedrin Court. This study discusses those sects in more detail to help shed light on "why" they were committed to opposing Christ and his ministry.
